Getting Started

At minimum, you need one kettlebell. We recommend having 2-3 kettlebells of different weights (e.g., 8kg, 12kg, 16kg) for progression. Balance equipment like a balance board or cushion is optional but beneficial for winter sport training.
During onboarding, you'll select one winter sport (from 21 options like skiing, snowboarding, hockey) and one summer sport (from 20 options like golf, tennis, cycling). Your training will automatically emphasize the relevant physical qualities for each sport based on the current season.
ShredKettle calculates a recommended starting weight based on your age and gender. We always err on the side of lighter weights to ensure you build proper form. The AI will progress you as you demonstrate readiness.
Yes! ShredKettle is an offline-first app. All workouts are available offline, and your progress is saved locally. When you reconnect, everything syncs automatically.

AI Coach

Our AI coach, powered by Claude, analyzes your workout history, feeling ratings, weight trends, and upcoming trips to provide personalized recommendations. It suggests when to increase weights, when to progress to the next week, and how to adjust training for trip preparation.
Absolutely. You can long-press any exercise to set a personal weight override. You can specify a reason (injury, preference, equipment feel) and set an expiration date. The system will prompt you to review overrides every 4 weeks.
The AI provides recommendations, not requirements. You're always in control. If you feel stronger or weaker than the AI suggests, use the weight override feature. Your feedback helps the system learn your preferences.
The free tier includes a basic fallback algorithm for progression. The full Claude-powered AI coaching with detailed messages and advanced recommendations is available in the Pro tier.

Seasonal Training

Based on the current month, ShredKettle adjusts the percentage of exercises focused on each sport. In winter, you'll see more balance, lateral movement, and power exercises. In summer, more rotation, hip mobility, and thoracic spine work. The transitions happen gradually.
Yes. In Settings, you can turn off auto-detect and manually select winter, spring, summer, or fall. This is useful if you're training for an off-season trip or live in a region with different seasonal patterns.
The 'winter' and 'summer' categories in ShredKettle refer to the physical qualities needed, not your actual climate. If you snowboard in the southern hemisphere summer, set winter as your current season manually.
Add your planned trips (ski trips, golf vacations, etc.) to the app. ShredKettle automatically adjusts your training: ramping up 2-4 weeks before, peaking 1 week before, tapering 3 days before, and helping you recover after.

Technical

Yes. All data is stored securely with user-level isolation. We use industry-standard authentication and encryption. Your workout data is yours—we don't sell or share it with third parties.
Currently, you can view all your workout history in the app. Full data export functionality is on our roadmap. Contact support if you need a manual export.
ShredKettle is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works on any device with a modern browser—iPhone, Android, tablet, or desktop. Install it to your home screen for the best experience.
ShredKettle has a built-in offline fallback algorithm. If our AI service is temporarily unavailable, you'll still get intelligent progression recommendations based on proven training principles.

Account & Billing

You can upgrade to Pro from your account settings or during sign-up. Pro includes a 14-day free trial so you can experience the full AI coaching before committing.
Yes, you can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your billing period, then your account downgrades to Free.
We accept all major credit cards through our secure payment processor. Annual subscriptions are also available for additional savings.
You can request account deletion from your account settings. This will permanently delete all your data including workout history, preferences, and any active subscription.
